Keetsa mattress review

The most popular Keetsa mattress is the Keetsa Cloud mattress. It’s an all-memory foam mattress that is made from organic materials. That means that it’s a bit more pricey than if it wouldn’t be – but it’s better for the environment. We’ll talk a little more in detail about this later.

It’s made from proprietary memory foam and it’s a firm mattress. So don’t mistake the Cloud in its name for a soft heavenly mattress ?

I quickly want to mention that the company is family owned. Which is a breather from all the mass production mattress companies that prefer to satisfy their P&L sheet and investors than you as a customer. They’re based in the U.S. in California. And the main concern is producing an environmental friendly mattress – without compromising on the quality and durability of their mattress.

In a world where the environment gets bashed a lot, I can identify with this mission and am happy that companies take this route. Instead of focusing purely on profit and margins, they’re actually doing something good for society. You pay a bit extra for the organic materials – but from a wider perspective for society this is worth it.

2 Types of people that will enjoy sleeping on the Keetsa Cloud mattress

keetsa mattress size

While there are thousands of different types of sleepers who sleep well on the mattress, the main types of people who will enjoy sleeping on the Keetsa Cloud mattress the most are:

  • People who sleep on their back or stomach – because the mattress is on the firmer side, it offers more relief if you sleep on your stomach or back.
  • People who value the environment – if you’re worried about the environmental friendliness of most mass marketed petroleum mattresses, opting for the organic Keetsa mattress will be a good choice

5 Benefits of the mattress

#1 Offers good support and pressure relief

How much you may support the environment – it doesn’t matter if you’re not sleeping comfortably on the mattress. This is a problem with some other organic mattresses. In their quest for an environmental friendly mattress they forget the #1 thing what mattresses are made for: comfort and support for your body while you sleep. So that you wake up feeling refreshed.

As we said before, the 3 memory foam layers work together to make sure that your body gets all the support and comfort that it needs throughout the night. With a caveat though: it works the best if you’re a back or stomach sleeper. Or if you’re on the heavier side.

Lighter people and side sleepers may find the mattress too firm. So if that’s you – the Keetsa mattress is in all likelihood not for you – check out these mattresses. Unless you enjoy firm mattresses of course.

#2 Good motion isolation

Do you wake up at night when your partner is moving? Then you can benefit from a mattress with a high motion isolation factor. Memory foam mattresses in general are good at this – but the Keetsa Cloud mattress does an extraordinary job at this. The high-density foam is 3 pounds per cubic feet and this works to absorb the movements of your partner (and you of course) so that you can both sleep well. Even if the other person is moving.

#3 Made from organic materials

I’ve added this section because I think that the environmental approach of the Keetsa mattress needs some special attention. You see, contrary to what some people think – the mattress isn’t a 100% organic.

They still use petroleum in the mattress – because otherwise it wouldn’t be as comfortable as it is now. Around 12 % of the mattress is made from plant-based castor oil. And this is now about the limit where quality and durability isn’t compromised. The cover is a 100% organic though – this mainly goes for the memory foam.

As technology advances, and new methods are becoming available, the production of the mattress will be upgraded as well. But for now it’s one of the best options for those who value the environment, but also want a quality comfortable bed.

#4 Sleeping trial

A mattress is a significant investment. Not only in monetary terms, but also for your health. A good mattress that suits your body can make or break your health. So it makes sense to try out the mattress before you make your final decision, right?

Before, most of the time you were limited to lying down for 5 minutes in the mattress store. However, more and more mattress companies are now offering sleep trials. What that means is that you can try out the mattress in the comfort of your own home.

Now, it depends through which channel you order the Keetsa mattress, but you’ll get at least 90 days to see how your body sleeps on the mattress. This is a great option if you’re not a 100% sure, but want the opportunity to try out if the mattress is for you.

There are 2 requirements for sending it back though. You can only send it back after 30 days (so you actually take the time to test it), you’ve got to keep the receipt and you’ve got to pay a restocking fee. More information can be found on this page.

#5 CertiPUR certified

Another thing that is important is that the mattress is CertiPUR approved. This means that it’s free from any harmful materials – and you can safely sleep on it knowing that it doesn’t emit VOC’s (volatile organic compounds). Sounds a bit scientific – but it basically means that any smell that might come from the mattress (this might be in the initial couple of days after unpacking), is harmless.

Since childhood I've tried hundreds of little experiments to feel better, learn faster and perform higher (e.g. supplements, sports, psychological tricks, sleep and wacky diets).
After I graduated university in 2016, I basically found that sleep was the #1 factor to improve every aspect of life.
Bad sleep = bad life. I started SleepInvestor in 2017 to share my experiments and thoughts about sleep.
