Nectar Mattress Complaints: Don’t Order It Before Reading This….

nectar mattress complaintsBefore buying a mattress it’s always good to check what other people’s experiences have been. Today we’re going to discuss the Nectar Mattress complaints. As it’s a popular mattress – but there’s no place where all the complaints to-date are listed.

So we searched around the internet for Nectar Mattress complaints. And here’s a list of what people find wrong with the mattress. (since it’s a Nectar mattress complaint list, I had to let go of all the glowing happy customer reviews).

I suspect that around 10% of reviews I saw about the Nectar Mattress were complaints. So if you’re thinking of getting the mattress, you can take a look on this page what most people say. But bear in mind that these are only the negative ones.

Nectar mattress complaints

After doing my research I’ve seen that the majority of Nectar Mattress complaints are about the delivery time. There were few to no complaints about how the mattress actually sleeps. So that’s a thing to keep in mind.

The company promises to deliver your mattress within 5 days (in the U.S.), but often customers have waited longer before they got their mattress. One case even saw a woman waiting more than a month – and cancelling the order as a result.

Now, the main reason why shipping times have been so long in the past was most likely because the company had received a large amount of orders. And they had to finish their backlog before being able to send out new mattresses.

However, I’ve recently read that the company has cleaned their act (in regards to shipping and production). And that they have learned to handle their new popularity. So the chances that your mattress will be delivered late are small. (but it can still happen, of course. Like with every other product that gets delivered to your home.)

My opinion is that if the most common and harsh complaint is that the mattress takes a while to deliver – and we’re talking about a company that’s growing fast – there’s not much to worry about (when talking about the actual quality of the mattress).

But without further ado. Let’s dive into the Nectar Mattress complaints! I’ve divided them into easy-to-read sections, so you can clearly look at different aspects.

Nectar mattress complaints: delivery & setup of the mattress

“Good luck to all of you that are waiting for your Nectar mattress. I ordered mine on March 1st. I finally cancelled the order yesterday, April 6th. I received a couple of emails saying it hadn’t shipped but nothing about when it would. The refund has not hit the bank yet and they haven’t even sent a cancellation confirmation. I’m settling in for a long battle to get my refund.” (source)

“Not long ago a friend of mine told me she had bought a Leesa mattress and she could hardly stand the off-gassing “new mattress” smell. That had me worried about this new mattress because my husband can be sensitive to particular odors.

The smell of the new mattress really wasn’t noticeable as I was getting it set up, but it was there when I put my face against it, and it was still there when I went to bed that night.

The off-gassing from the Nectar mattress did go away, though! It took about 3 days, and it was only apparent when laying right on it.” (source)

I ordered mine sometime in the middle of February with the white glove service. It finally shipped and arrived at the delivery service on the 4th, but I have yet to receive a call from anyone about delivery. I spoke with a Nectar Sleep rep and they could only tell me when it shipped. I contacted the delivery company Manko yesterday, and they couldn’t find my order. I called Nectar Sleep again and they took my number and email and said they would contact the delivery service. Needless to say, the white glove service isn’t worth it. I just want a bed or my money.” (source)

^ – This is a copied message from another reddit sub but I want to inform you guys what you’re getting yourself into. I wish I saw this before I went through all the trouble with this company. I purchased the mattress on May 21st with the so-called “$125 + 2 pillows” which I later found out is doesn’t ever expires. NECTAR immediately charged me and after a week let me know it was delayed…

Being a patient person, I asked at the second week how it was doing. They said sorry and that it was going to be further delayed and that I should expect shipment within 24 hours. Didn’t happen and in the middle of the third week after I threaten to cancel if I didn’t get tracking number they responded that it was delayed and will be given within 24 hours. More than 24 hours later I get the tracking number but guess what…

After SEVEN days the shipment was at the same location! The company gets the label but doesn’t move inventory. Long story short, they lied to me three more times about inventory movement but I think people are catching on their scam so they can’t ship inventory. I have a theory that they use new orders to fulfil previous backlog orders.

Anyway, I finally called my bank to get the money wired back and have an investigation done on this transaction. I also filed a FTC report.; hopefully, they shut this company down from scamming more folks. If any of you file a class action lawsuit against NECTAR from targeting the Amercian people, you have my support.

Don’t take the unnecessary risk to save a couple of bucks and just because some got theirs mattress. I learn the hard way that if something is too good to be true, it more than likely is.” (source)

The following Nectar Mattress complaints were comments underneath the following YouTube video. Feel free to check out the video if you want to hear an actual customer service call with Nectar (starts at 10.30).

“I ordered my mattress and got it a lot later than they stated :/ however the big problem that i’ve had is the smell of the mattress. Even after allowing it to air out, 6 weeks later it still has a heavy chemical smell.”

“I ordered mine 3 weeks ago and still haven’t received it! There logistics department is UNREAL incompetent. What did customer service tell you each time you called to ask where your mattress was? Every time I call they say my purchase is under investigation LOL. Why in God’s name does a paid for purchase need to be investigated. I feel like it’s a crime to purchase something from these people.”

I placed my order on April 10 2018 and the shipping issues have me frustrated already ! I get all excited thinking Im getting home to a new bed just to find out that the bed got shipped back
I just want a good night sleep lol
this will be the 3RD TIME GETTING IT RESHIPPED ,”

“FYI, they don’t come and get your mattress back, Nectar just has someone come over and get it and they donate it off to charity or dump it.  It’s illegal to resale a used mattress.”

Just something I feel a lot of people don’t really consider about these 100 – 365 day trials. The company is banking on you not keeping your old mattress. Who wants to keep a second mattress laying around for several months to a year just incase they don’t like the new one that far down the road? “

“They know this and expect most people will get rid of their old one, which will make them more reluctant to send the new one back. It’s still a great thing to have a trial, but consider the reality of actually making that trial work.”

Nectar mattress complaints: comfort

EDIT: So I took the dive and ordered the Nectar. I’ve had it for about 3 weeks now. For the most part I do like it. As far as the feel goes I love it. I don’t wake up in the middle of the night, and I fall asleep faster. It does make it harder to get out of bed in the morning ◕‿↼. It has a good balance of cradling you for the first few inches, and then supporting you so you don’t feel like you are in a hammock. I weigh about 245 lbs, so a lot of softer memory foams felt like I was sinking too far into them. I’m naturally a warm sleeper, and switching from a traditional spring mattress to a memory foam is going to increase the temperature retention, no matter what kind of gel or tencel tech it has in it. It’s not unbearable, but it is a little uncomfortable. Although I am switching from a comforter to a lighter weight quilt soon and hopefully that may solve the problem. There was some off gassing, but it dissipated within a couple of days. Overall I would recommend this mattress as it is currently, I’ll periodically try to update this if there are any changes. (source)”

“Both the Nectar and Casper mattresses struggle when it comes to providing edge support. These mattresses do not have any design elements that are meant to bolster the foam at the edge, and because of this, it may feel unstable or that the foam is giving way when you sit or lie down at the edge. Nectar mattress complaints: customer service

“I expect they will honor it. I had a problem with delivery and set up and they refunded me the cost of that. Then they offered to reimburse me the cost of a mattress topper when my wife wanted to try that. Overall, even though I had a couple of issues, they made every effort to accommodate me. I don’t expect to have to use the return policy, but I have until 2018 to decide. Good luck. (source)”

My advice is to stay away from nectar. Nectar Sleep is nothing but a scam. The are just a distributor of a Chinese made mattress and are making money off of lying and ripping off anyone who is stupid enough to believe them. They have terrible customer service. After trying to contact them for more than a week to cancel/refund my order because they kept lying about the shipping date, they are still ignoring me. I’ve had to resort to filing a complaint with the BBB. When I was looking for a mattress I tried to buy this one. When I placed my order I was told that it would ship by 5/11. 5/11 came and went and I reached out to the company, and their reply was it would definitely ship 5/13. On 5/14 I emailed asking to confirm the mattress shipped. They email back it did shipped, so I asked for a tracking number. Then they emailed back that it would ship soon. Getting concerned about the conflicting emails I requested that they cancel my order and refund my money. I have yet to hear back from them after sending several more emails and leaving multiple voicemails. I’m very unhappy with this company and suspect there is something fishy going on. I’ve tried contacting the company through Facebook as well but they have blocked me and have deleted my reviews. (source)”

“I’ve never experienced more polarizing reviews than with Nectar. Almost 90% of the negative reviews come from criticism of their customer service (which has been just okay for me), shipping dates, or hyper scrutiny of their business practices. Not actual comfort or quality of the mattress.

I ordered my Nectar about 2.5 weeks ago. Finally received it Tuesday of last week. So it took a little longer than originally advertised. This delay was attributed to the large influx of orders they received from their sale. Not too unusual.

It’s comfortable. I’d say a 7 out of 10 firmness. It’s getting warmer where I live and the bed sleeps cooler than any other memory foam I’ve experienced. It supports me where it needs to, and I don’t wake up in the middle of the night anymore. I find it to be a very nice quality mattress for the money. My back aches and shoulder pain have gradually faded… but I was sleeping on a 7 year old spring before.

Customer service varies from somewhat responsive, to responsive, to absent minded for me. They did inform me of the delay, which wasn’t awful. Also, the chat personnel on the website seems somewhat helpful these days too. I asked for a refund to see what that process would be like (simply because I was curious, I do not intend on returning my mattress yet..) I had a response in chat and a follow up email requesting my order number and info within minutes of closing chat. That’s all the further I’ve taken the process as I intend to keep the mattress.

The negative reviews are so incendiary I expected a heap of shit to roll out of the delivery package. The bed is good. The customer service needs work. Far from a scam as some claim. (source)”

I ordered a mattress back in the middle of January 2018. I accepted that is would not be delivered until February 2, 2018, due to the large number of orders. The 888 number goes unanswered. The only way to get in touch is via the online help. After four missed ship dates, I requested a refund. They said okay, but it would take two days to process. I let four days pass and get no refund. Again, per online chat, it cannot be processed until the bed actually is ready to ship.

Based on the fact that we are nearly a month and a half without shipment, I will never get a refund. This refund process is either a lie or just simple stupidity. Nectar as a company cannot deliver. (source)”

“I purchased the beginning of January. They said it would ship before or on January 31st, but now it says shipping on February 8th. Then I call and they said it could be pushed back further, but they won’t know yet. This is unacceptable. It’s not like I’m ordering paper towels and can supplement with other ones before it arrives. We’re talking about a bed that I’ve been waiting on. Buy somewhere else. (source)”

“Shipping for the Nectar in the continental United States is completely free. If you live in Alaska or Hawaii, then the shipping does cost a little bit, but it’s still very affordable and Nectar absorbs most of the cost for you. If you ever need to make a return, the return shipping is also free.

As we mentioned previously, Nectar has become so popular that demand for the mattresses is often greater than available supply. There has been a waiting period – between placing your order for a Nectar and the mattress being shipped out due the massive demand for Nectar.

This has lead to a small number of customers complaining. However, in the company’s defence, when your mattress will be shipped and if there is currently any waiting period is advertised very clearly before you place your order (at the time of writing, there is currently no waiting period for example). Customer service is also very responsive if you want to check on your order status. (source)”

Nectar mattress conclusion:

So, that was it for the Nectar Mattress complaints. As with every online products (whether that be mattresses, blenders or toothbrushes), there will be complaints. Especially for popular companies.

The fact that the majority of Nectar mattress complaints were about the delivery time makes me have faith in the actual quality of the mattress more.

Furthermore, as you might’ve read in some of the complaints, it’s that Nectar offers a 365 days sleeping trial. Which means that you can try out the mattress for an entire year. And if you’re not happy, you can safely return it.

Of course, you may need to call CS a few times, but all in all it’s an offer with basically no risk whatsoever.

P.S. Most of the Nectar mattress complaints were about shipping time – the actual quality of the mattress is very good for its price. They have a special offer till the end of the month: if you order now you get $125 off + 2 FREE pillows! Don’t wait any longer and order the Nectar mattress now!
