Tempurpedic Alternatives: 5 Mattress With The Same Quality, but Cheaper

tempurpedic alternativesTempurpedic is a good mattress to sleep on. However, the price is quite high. That’s why it’s only logical that you’re looking for Tempurpedic alternatives. In this article we’ll discuss 5 of the most popular alternatives to the Tempurpedic mattress. So if you want a mattress that has the quality of the Tempurpedic, but a better price tag, continue reading…

Tempurpedic alternatives

The main thing with Tempurpedic is that they have high quality mattresses. However, the price for the mattresses is in the thousands of dollars but for many people, this is too much to pay for a mattress. Especially if they’re not 100% sure that they will enjoy sleeping on the mattress.

The following five mattresses have a much lower price tag. That means that the risk of buying one of these mattresses is a lot lower than with the Tempurpedic.

So here are the 5 best alternatives but in each little review we’ll talk about in which aspect is a better choice than the original tempur pedic memory foam mattress.

I’ve especially not added too much information about each mattress, since I wrote individual reviews about each. So for each mattress there’s a link that will lead you to the individual page for the mattress.

Also, if you want to order the mattress right away, you can do so through the links below.

Alternative #1: Casper mattress

Both the Casper mattress and the tempo. Mattress are good mattresses. They’re great to deal with heat retention, and they have different level that is good for most people. They are medium firm memory foam mattresses, so is good for back and stomach sleepers.

Another good thing about the Casper mattress is that all the materials from which it is made or very transparent. You can easily go to the Casper website and see exactly what material and which thickness is where you have. This is something you not get with tempur-pedic. And this can be quite bad if you’re trying to compare both mattresses. For more information:

You can read more about the Casper mattress here.

Click here if you want to buy the Casper mattress.

Alternative #2: Nectar mattress

The second Tempurpedic alternative is the Nectar mattress. It’s a newer memory foam mattress and the best thing about is that you get a 365 nights sleeping trial. Most other memory foam mattresses also give a sleeping trial – but with Nectar you get the longest one from the entire mattress industry.

Also, many people are very happy with the Nectar mattress and it’s very difficult to find complaints online about how the mattress sleeps. Although they had some shipping problems when the company first started – but those are solved now. And there’s no need to worry about that.

On top of that, there’s a promotion going on. Which means that you can get the mattress now with $125 off + 2 free pillows. So it’s a great Tempurpedic alternative.

Click here to get $125 off the Nectar mattress – limited time only!

Alternative #3: Purple mattress

The Purple mattress is famous for its specific colour: purple. But don’t be blinded by this. It’s a good mattress made from high quality materials. And you also get a sleep trial. So you can try out the mattress in the comfort of your own home. If you’re not satisfied, you can simply return it.

Here’s more information about the Purple mattress.

Alternative #4: Lull mattress

The Lull mattress is another great option if you’re looking for Tempurpedic alternatives. just as the other mattresses it comes with a sleep trial. It’s a little more expensive than the Nectar mattress for example, but a great thing about the Lull mattress is that it’s made for the right balance between firmness and softness. So if you like a mattress that has the exact sweet spot in between, then this is a good choice.

find out more information about the Lull mattress here in my Lull mattress review.

Or click here to order the Lull mattress!

Alternative #5: Tuft & Needle mattress

Tuft & Needle is the cheapest alternative. The mattress was made to cut out as much unnecessary costs as possible to create a good mattress. The result is a high quality mattress. However, it does not have too much bells and whistles. For example, it doesn’t have good edge support. However, if you’re looking for a quality mattress (for the majority of people) that is available for a good price, then the Tuft & Needle is a great option.

Plus there’s also a trial, so you’re not choosing blind.

Here’ more information about the Tuft & Needle mattress.

Conclusion

Tempurpedic makes a wide variety of high quality mattresses. The only downside is that most of them are expensive. In the thousands of dollars. So not everyone can (or wants to) afford a Tempurpedic.

The 5 mattresses listed in this article are great options if you want a mattress with the same good quality – but for a much lower price.

I’ve written individual reviews about these mattresses. you can read them by clicking the links in each paragraph. You can also check out the buying links in the paragraphs to check all the details of each mattress.

Or maybe you’ve decided that you still want a Tempurpedic. here are some of the reasons why Tempurpedic might still be a good option for you:

  • You want a wide variety in mattress firmness
  • You have the money and are willing to spend several thousands on a great mattress
  • You want the mattress delivered home with great service

In those cases, it makes sense to still get a Tempurpedic mattress. Check out the most popular of their mattresses here: the Flex Hybrid.

P.S. do you have any experiences with these mattresses? Then please leave a comment describing that. It would be especially valuable if you’ve slept both on a Tempurpedic mattress and on one of the mattress described in this article! You could help all of us a lot.

Casper vs Tuft and Needle vs Leesa: 7 Questions To Help You Decide

casper vs tuft and needle vs leesaMost of the time when people ask me for a mattress comparison it’s only between 2 different mattresses. But sometimes it happens that I get asked to do a comparison between 3 mattresses. You may have heard about them: they’re all getting good reviews on all the major mattress sites. And that’s why today we’re going to discuss the Casper vs Tuft and Needle vs Leesa mattress. So if you’re in doubt which one of these will be the perfect one for you – please continue reading.

Note: every person is different so your needs will be different from mine and form the next person reading this. That’s why there’s no definitive answer to which mattress is the *best*. What there is, however, is a mattress which is the *best for you*. So I highly recommend you ask yourself beforehand what you value in a mattress – maybe even talk with your spouse about it. That way you’ll have a better image of what type of mattress you want. And the choice will become a lot easier.

In this article we’ll first discuss what makes the 3 mattresses similar. After that we’ll take each mattress and examine it. I’ll also tell you what I found the most interesting about each mattress. After that we’ll have a list of questions that will help you make your decision which mattress is best for you.

Casper vs Tuft and Needle vs Leesa

Now, all 3 mattresses have quite a bit in common. For example, they’re all foam mattresses. And they’re all pretty new on the mattress scene. Here’s an overview of everything that these 3 mattresses have in common:

  • Memory foam mattresses
  • Can be bought online (and shipped to your door)
  • Are 10 inches thick
  • Offer a 100-night sleeping trial (risk-free purchase)
  • Have a 10-year warranty

So, the main things I want to draw attention to here is the mattresses are medium thickness and that they are memory foam mattresses that are medium firm. So in terms as far as mattresses go – they are all good for the majority of people. So you should be fine with each choice. However, each mattress has its own things and details that may make it a better (or worse) fit for you.

We’ll discuss that in the following paragraphs.

What I like about the Casper mattress: incredible service

One of the first things that you’ll notice is that the Casper mattress is a very comfortable mattress. It’s made from premium latex foam and it really seems to hit that sweet sport of not too firm – but also not too soft. So it’s a good mattress if you like mattresses that have their firmness in the middle.

Another thing that Casper really seems to do well is their customer service. For instance, if you still have an old mattress that you have no place to put it – the guys that will bring your mattress can also take it away. And if you have a problem, you can always count on them to help top you.

One negative ting though is that some people find that the mattress keeps its chemical smell for quite a long time. So if you’re unable to open the window in the first couple of weeks while sleeping, that might be a reason not to get the Casper mattress.

What I like about the Tuft & Needle mattress: premium mattress – but a price class lower

The Tuft and Needle is a great mattress in itself. The main thing that you’ll notice with this mattress is its simplicity. And that’s not only in its appearance. It only has 2 layers of foam – instead of the 3 or more of most other mattresses.

That is because when designing the mattress, the company made sure to focus only on the things that matter most for sleeping: comfort and support. This is in order to make a great mattress that is also affordable for the majority of people.

This has paid off, since the mattress has a much lower price tag than the other 2 mattresses in this comparison. So if you’re on a budget – the Tuft & Needle might be the perfect mattress for you.

One drawback, however, is that it might be too simple for some people. Some things such as edge support didn’t make the cut for the mattress. Some people might need it, but most don’t, so the company decided not to include this.

What I like about the Leesa mattress: comfort + charity

One of the first things you might come to know about the Leesa mattress is that they have a giving pledge. What this means is that for every 10 mattresses that they sell – they give 1 mattress to a homeless shelter. I’m always happy to see if a company decides to take their profits and do something more to better the world instead of just selling a good product and hording all the profits. So if you’re anything like me, this will resonate with you as well.

But of course it’s also important how the mattress sleeps. The Leesa mattress is a very comfortable mattress. Here’s how it’s built:

  • 2-inch top layer that keeps you cool and conforms to your body
  • 2-inch memory foam layers that relieves pressure on painful parts of your body (such as hips of lower back)
  • 6-inch base layer for support and stability

So, just like the other 2 mattresses, it’s a 10-inch mattress. The Leesa mattress is most suited for you if you value comfort – and don’t have to worry too much about your budget. Oh, of course the giving pledge may also convince you to choose Leesa.

Here’s what to base your decision on (Casper vs Tuft and Needle vs Leesa)

A lot of information about these 3 mattresses, so you might not be completely sure which one to pick. I’ve dropped some hints in the previous paragraphs, but let’s make it a bit more clear:

  • Do you want a premium mattress for an affordable price? Pick Tuft & Needle
  • Do you want very good customer service? Casper mattress
  • Is comfort the thing you desire most? Leesa will have you covered
  • Do you sleep very hot? Leesa or Casper will be a great choice
  • Do you want to keep the mattress for 10+ years? Leesa or Casper mattress
  • Do you need edge support? Leesa or Casper
  • Do you care about charity? Leesa mattress

Final verdict Casper vs Tuft and needle vs Leesa

So there you have it. In general I’d say that if you’re on a budget, pick Tuft & Needle. And if you don’t then it will be a choice between Casper and Leesa. Leesa wins on comfort but the Casper mattress also has a lot of good things going for it.

I recommend you check out the links below for more information about each mattress. You’ll also have the option to buy directly, so you won’t have to go looking for any other place.

I hope this article has made it more clear to you which mattress is the better choice for you. And if you have any questions (after checking the links below), you can always leave a comment. I’d be happy to help you out.

Loom and Leaf vs Tuft and Needle: Do You Have the Budget For It?

loom and leaf vs tuft and needleChances are you’re contemplating between the Loom and Leaf vs Tuft and Needle mattress. Both mattresses receive many good customer reviews (both online and offline), so it’s not a matter of black and white. That’s why in this comparison I want to shed a light on the critical differences that the mattresses have. Because it is those differences that make each mattress more attractive to specific types of sleepers. So in essence we’re going to discuss what type of sleeper you are – and then couple that with the mattresses so you’ll know which one will suit your better.

Note: because both mattresses suit to different people, it’s important that you ask yourself what is important to you: do you need a firm mattress for ample back support? Or are you looking for a mattress that just does the job and you can get for a cheaper price (maybe you’re not planning on sleeping on it for the next 10+ years). So ask yourself – or have a little chat with your partner – what is important for you in a mattress. It’ll save you a ton of decision stress later on.

Loom and Leaf vs Tuft and Needle

Before we discuss the differences, I first want to give you a little overview of the similarities of both. That way you’ll get a better feeling for what you can expect – regardless of your choice. It’ll help you realize whether either mattress is good enough for – and the differences between them will help make that final decision a lot easier for you.

Both mattresses:

  • Are foam mattresses (T&N is polyfoam – L&L is all memory foam)
  • Are only available online
  • Receive good customer reviews
  • Can be delivered at home
  • Offer a warranty of 10 years or more
  • Have a low-risk testing policy (you have 100 nights for T&N – 120 for L&L – to test the mattress in the comfort of your own home)

I’m very happy to see a test trial for both mattresses. Knowing you can test-sleep the mattress for at least 3 months always takes away a lot of the pre-purchase headache. I’m surprised not every mattress is doing this nowadays, but Loom & Leaf and Tuft & Needle do – so that’s always a reassuring sign.

Now, on to the differences between each mattress – and what surprised me the most about each.

What I like about the Loom and Leaf mattress: luxury memory foam (slow sinking)

The first thing you’ll notice is that the Loom and Leaf mattress is a pretty thick mattress. With its 12.93 inches it’s sure on the thicker side. SO if you like that, then Loom and Leaf is a perfect choice Here’s how the mattress is built up:

  • 2-inch PCF Polyfoam
  • 5-inch PCF Polyfoam
  • 5-inch PCF Gel Memory Foam
  • 2-inch PCF Memory Foam
  • 5/8-inch Foam Quilted with Organic Cotton

What this means in more concrete ‘how does it sleep’ terms is that the mattress is a 5.5 on the firmness scale of 1-10. It’s a traditional memory foam mattress, so what you’ll notice when you lie on it that it does a very good job at comfort. You’ll slowly start sinking into it. And that makes the mattress very comfortable. You can see that they pulled out all the stops to make sure that you really have a luxury feeling on it.

There is a downside however, and that is that it does come with a higher price tag. But if you’re not restricted by a tight budget – I’d say to give Loom and Leaf a try.

What I like about the Tuft and Needle mattress: premium mattress for an affordable price

Now, I’m not going to say that the Tuft & Needle mattress really sleeps worse on a comparable basis. But you should know that the mattress simply doesn’t have that *luxury* thing that Loom and Leaf has. However, it is a very comfortable mattress for the price.

It’s around 10 inches thick. Here’s an overview of all the layers:

  • 7-inch PCF Polyfoam
  • 3-inch PCF Polyfoam

So as you see it’s a lot simpler than the Loom and Leaf mattress. It’s around a 6.5 firmness on a scale of 1-10 (so a bit more firm than Loom and Leaf). And the great thing about this is that you get a mattress without any extra frills. And that is something that you see in the price. The Tuft & Needle company does a very good job in transparency. So if you’re curious you can exactly find out how the price of the mattress is built up.

So, the Tuft & Needle mattress was made to offer your 2 things: comfort and support. Which is, in my opinion what around 75% of people need. If you’ve got a comfortable mattress that offers ample support for your back and posture – what else do you need?

So if you’re on a budget – or prefer more simple mattresses – then you can almost not go wrong with the Tuft & Needle mattress.

What should you base your decision on

I already dropped some hints throughout this Loom and Leaf vs Tuft and Needle comparison. But to make it even easier I’ve compiled a short a question list you can ask yourself to become more clear which mattress is right for you:

  • Do you want a premium mattress for an affordable price? Tuft & Needle has got you covered
  • Or do you want a real luxury feeling and price isn’t an issue? Pick the Loom and Leaf mattress
  • Do you prefer the soft sinking of real memory foam? Loom and Leaf has exactly that
  • Or do you want a firmer mattress with all-polyfoam? In that case choose Tuft and Needle.

Oh, one thing I forgot to mention in the previous paragraphs. I have no personal experience with this, but many reviews online say that the Loom and leaf mattress does a phenomenal job for keeping motion transfer down. What this means is that if you sometimes wake up from the movements of your partner on the other side of the bed – your mattress scores poor for motion transfer.

So if that’s something that keeps you awake at night, the Loom & leaf mattress can help you.

Final verdict Loom and Leaf vs Tuft and Needle

We’ve reached the end of this comparison. So here a quick recap of the Loom and Leaf vs Tuft and Needle mattresses. Both mattresses are perfectly fine in terms of quality and sleeping experience. However, the Loom and Leaf does have a more luxury feel to it. So if you’re all for that and you have the budget – it’s an easy choice.

However, if you are on a budget, then I recommend picking the Tuft & Needle mattress. The price difference is significant. And maybe in a couple of years you will be earning more, so that you can then buy a more luxury mattress.

Anyway, I hope that you’ve become more clear on what mattress suits you. Now, the next thing for you to do is check out the product page for the mattress you chose. You’ll find a ton of extra useful information there and also some helpful customer reviews.

Zinus vs Tuft and Needle Mattress: 4 Guidelines to Help You Decide

zinus vs tuft and needle mattressSleep is incredibly important. Most people need around 8 hours of good sleep every night in order to get the most out of their lives. That’s why it is a good idea to make sure that the mattress you’re sleeping on is of high quality. But what if you don’t have thousands of dollars to spend on a good mattress? Then you’re forced to look at other variants. And it probably won’t surprise you that there are many mattresses available for an affordable price. That’s why today we’ll discuss Zinus vs Tuft and Needle mattress. Both mattresses are in the low-medium price range (as far as memory foam mattresses go). And it’s a question I often receive here on the blog.

zinus vs tuft needle mattress

Note: every person is different so it’s difficult to give a one-size-fits-all advice. What I can do however, is give you a good overview of each mattress + the different types of people who are more likely to enjoy one specific mattress vs another.

First, we’ll discuss the similarities between the 2 mattresses (so you get a good image), then I’ll show you the things I like most about each mattress (the differences). Finally I’ve made a list of questions you can ask yourself to find out which mattress suits you better.

So, let’s get started with this Zinus vs Tuft and Needle comparison!

Zinus vs Tuft and Needle

Both mattresses are similar in a couple of ways. To start, they’re both memory foam mattresses. So you’ll sleep well on them (click here for more information what a memory foam mattress exactly is).

As for thickness, the Zinus mattress is 12 inches thick, and the Tuft & Needle mattress 10 – so there’s not a big difference here. Also, the firmness of both mattresses is medium – so that’s the perfect mean for people who don’t want to sleep on too soft mattresses, but also want to feel like they’re sleeping on the floor.

Another thing you’ll get with each mattress is a 100-night sleeping trial. What that means is that after you order the mattress, you’ll have a little over 3 months to find out how you like sleeping on the mattress. This is a great thing, since it’ll allow you to delay the final decision until after you know how well the mattress sleeps. And in case you’re not satisfied – you can simply return the mattress for a refund.

Both mattresses also offer a 10-year guarantee – so if you happen to find some production fault in the coming years, you’ll be covered for that.

Now, onto the differences!

What I like about the Zinus mattress: comfortable high mattress with minimal *bounce*

zinus vs tuft and needle mattress

First thing you’ll notice after the Zinus mattress has expanded (takes around 24-48 hours) is that it’s a higher mattress. With 12 inches it will show off above your box spring or bed. So if you like mattresses on the higher side that’s a good thing here. Some people say the mattress is a bit on the firmer side compared to what they are saying on the product page of Zinus. However, that goes away in some time and the mattress become s a bit more soft – so on the medium side. This + its thickness makes it perfect for people who are on the heavier side though.

Another thing I like is that the mattress has minimal bounce. So if your partner is moving a lot at night and you wake up because of that – the Zinus mattress can help you get better sleep.

Now, the mattress also claims to have green tea extract inside. I’m a little unsure what that means, but at least it doesn’t smell like green tea! So it’s an interesting, but in the end quite useless extra. Maybe if you have some more to say about that, please leave it in the comments.

zinus green tea

Also, the Zinus mattress is the more affordable mattress in this Zinus vs Tuft and Needle comparison. As from what I’ve heard from others, this does mean that the longevity of the mattress is less. So if you’re not looking for a mattress that you’ll be able to sleep on for the next 10+ years, you’re good to go.

zinus layers

What I like about the Tuft and Needle mattress: premium mattress for an affordable price

tuft and needle vs zinus

Now, the Tuft & Needle mattress really looks like (and sleeps like) a premium mattress. It’s very comfortable and seems to hit that sweet spot between soft and firm right away. It’s still more affordable than other premium mattresses (that often go for $1000+). And the reason for that is that it’s a very minimalistic mattress. You won’t find many extra’s such as edge support or extra specialized foam layers in the mattress.

It just does what you need from a good mattress: it’s comfortable and offers ample support for your back so you sleep with good posture. I’d recommend this mattress if your budget allows it – because it’s the better option from the 2 and the longevity is also better.

tuft needle vs zinus

Here’s what to base your decision on

I have dropped some hints along this article, but to make the decision easier – here’s an overview of questions you can ask yourself to become clear which mattress is the right option for you:

  • Do you want a premium mattress for a non-premium price? Pick Tuft & Needle
  • Are you alright with trading some longevity/comfortability of the mattress for a reduction in price? Zinus mattress
  • Do you weigh more than 250 pounds? Zinus mattress
  • Is comfort very important for you? Then go for the Tuft & Needle mattress

Final verdict Zinus vs Tuft and Needle

So there we have it. In general, the Zinus mattress has a lower price tag – but it comes with the cost of less comfort and longevity. So if you have the budget, I’d recommend you go for Tuft & Needle. However, if you’re just looking for a memory foam mattress that is comfortable enough and will last you at least a couple of years – then the Zinus mattress may be good with its lower price tag.

If you want more information, I recommend you check out the respective product pages on Amazon. There you’ll find a lot more information (features and prices) + many helpful customer reviews that can guide your decision.

Click here for more information about the Zinus mattress!

And here if you want to know more about the Tuft & Needle mattress!

P.S. quick recap of the Zinus vs Tuft and Needle comparison: Tuft & Needle is the overall better choice for comfort and longevity – however this comes with the price tag. So if you’re willing to trade some comfort for a lower price, you can go for the Zinus mattress.

Ghostbed vs Tuft and Needle Mattress: Affordability or Comfort?

ghostbed vs tuft and needle mattressPicking your new mattress can be a hell of a job – especially if you’re deciding between 2 different mattress that on the surface might look very familiar. You want to make the right decision, after all you’re planning on sleeping on the mattress for the next 10+ years. So today we’re going to discuss another frequent question between 2 mattresses: Ghostbed vs Tuft and Needle mattress.

Note: before we get started with the comparison, I want you to take a couple of minutes to ask yourself what you value most in a mattress. Maybe even talk with your partner about this. Knowing what you value most will help guide your decision. It may sound obvious, but when you’re making a significant purchase such as mattress – you want to be sure that it’s right for you!

Ghostbed vs Tuft and Needle mattress

It’s one thing to know the difference between the 2 mattresses – but it’s also important to know in which they are similar. So you can check off that information and only focus on the differences. Here’s a short list of the things that both Ghostbed and Tuft & Needle shar in common:

The 2 mattresses:

  • Are both memory foam mattresses
  • Offer a 100-night sleeping trial
  • Are around 10 inches thick (Ghostbed 11)
  • Offer a warranty of 10 or more years
  • Keep you cool at night
  • Are medium firm mattresses
  • Can be ordered online and will be delivered straight to your door

Of all these things I want to draw your attention mainly to the fact that they’re both memory foam mattresses and that they offer a 100-night sleeping trial. First, if you’re looking for a good memory foam mattress, both the Ghostbed and the Tuft & Needle will suit your needs. As you might know, memory foam is a newer way of making mattresses (as opposed to coils or inner springs). The benefit of the foam is that it supports your body better. And as the name implies, it keeps a ‘memory’ of how your body lies. So that the parts of your body where you need more support (hip or shoulders for example) get extra support. You can read more about memory foam mattresses here

Now, the 100-night trial is something that I’m very happy to see is being introduced more and more in the mattress world. You see, there’s nothing worse than buying a mattress for a significant price – only to find out you don’t sleep well on it. But thing become even worse when your purchase was final. With this trial you actually can check out the mattress for a couple of months in the comfort of your own home. See how you sleep on it and in the case you’re not happy with it – you can simply return it. This really takes the edge of buying a new mattress, since you’re not risking anything financially.

But enough about the similarities, let’s check what makes each mattress different.

What I like about the Ghostbed: Very comfortable (but does take a couple of weeks to conform to your body)

The first thing that you might notice when you start sleeping on the Ghostbed is that it’s a bit on the firmer side (maybe firmer than you expected). This is normal – the mattress needs a couple of weeks to lose that firmness. Many other people experience this as well.

So first it may be a bit too firm for you – but after that it will get a lot better. I’d argue and say that there are few mattresses more comfortable than the Ghostbed. It might be because of the thick profile, luxury high density memory foam or the extra durable cover. But prepare yourself for really good sleep on the Ghostbed.

Another benefit that this mattress has is edge support. So if you need a bit of extra stability when getting up in the morning, then you sure need good edge support. This is something that the Tuft & Needle mattress lacks a bit (which we’ll discuss more about in the next part).

What I like about the Tuft and Needle mattress: Premium mattress for an affordable price

The main advantage that Tuft & Needle has over other mattresses is its simplicity and affordability. The company is very transparent on how they create their mattresses. And their focus lies on creating a simple mattress without any unnecessary frills (of course dependent on your needs). And the result is a mattress that can keep up with virtually every other premium mattress when it comes to comfort and support.

So when you get this mattress you can expect a comfortable mattress (firmness is around 6.5 out of 10 – just like the Ghost mattress after a couple of weeks). But the price tag is lower. So if you’re looking for a high-quality mattress on a budget – Tuft and Needle is the way to go.

However, there is a disadvantage to this. And as you saw before, if you do need some extra’s – such as edge support or maybe some more *bounce* in the mattress, then you’re not going to find that in this mattress.

Here’s what to base your decision on

So in the end what it comes down to is quality vs affordability. I’ve made a short list of questions that you can ask yourself to become more clear which mattress will be the right one for you (Ghostbed vs Tuft and Needle mattress);

  • Do you want the highest comfortability and support (and are you willing to pay some more for that)? Ghostbed is your choice.
  • Do you prefer a mattress without any frills or other features that you wouldn’t use? Tuft & needle will be better for you.
  • Do you need edge support? Choose the Ghostbed

Final verdict Ghostbed vs Tuft and Needle mattress

The overall comfort and support of the Ghostbed is better. However, this comes with a price – and the Tuft and Needle does a very good job at making a premium mattress for an affordable price.

I hope this helps you with making your decision. And if you’re curious for more information (features, prices), I recommend you check out the respective mattress pages on Amazon below. There you’ll find a ton of useful information + some incredibly helpful customer reviews.

Or here to check out the Tuft & Needle mattress!

P.S. a quick recap for the Ghostbed vs Tuft and Needle mattress comparison. If you’re looking for optimal comfort -> Ghostbed. However, if you’re on a budget, you’d do well with the Tuft and Needle mattress, as it’s more affordable.

In this article we’ll discuss the mattresses and give you a good idea which one will suit you better. At the end we’ve included a small list of questions that you can ask yourself. With the answers to these questions you’ll be able to get a clear image what the better option is for you.

Note: before we get started, please ask yourself (or your spouse) what the most important thing is that you need in a mattress. Is it support for a bad back? Or is it optimal comfort? Or maybe you have trouble getting up from your bed and need good support on the edge? By asking yourself this question, you’ll know what to look out for and you’ll recognize easier which mattress is right for you.

Purple mattress vs Tuft and Needle – what is the best mattress for you?

Before we get started with the key differences between the 2 mattresses, I first want to quickly show you all the things that they have in common. So that way you’ll be better able to get a complete image of each mattress. Here they are:

Both mattresses (the queen model):

  • Are foam mattresses
  • Can be bought online
  • Have a 100-night sleeping trial
  • Offer a 10-year warranty
  • Are around 10 inches high and
  • Have a firmness level of 6.5 (on a scale of 1-10)
  • Have minimal motion transfer

The things I’d like to draw some attention to here are the firmness level and the motion transfer. A firmness of 6.5 means that both mattresses are generally considered medium firm. That means that they’re not very soft – but also not too firm. For the majority of people (except very overweight people over 230 pounds and people who suffer from a very bad back), this is the perfect type of firmness.

The minimal motion transfer means that if your partner is making a lot of movements at night, you will barely feel it. This is a great plus if you usually wake up from movements from your spouse.

Also a good thing for the mattresses is that they both offer a free sleeping trial. This means that you can order the mattress online and sleep on it for 100 nights. So basically your purchase isn’t the final decision. In the rare case that you might not like the mattress, you can then simple return it and get your money back. This is perfect for those who hesitate a bit before making a larger purchase (and buying a mattress is a significant purchase).

What I like about the Purple mattress: sleeps very cool

So now that we’ve got the similarities out of the way, let’s check what makes each mattress different. The main thing that you’ll notice for the Purple mattress is the composition. It’s a unique mattress when we look at its top layer. This 2-inch hyper elastic polymer layer is responsible for allowing good airflow through the mattress.

Its grid style contains many air pockets that allow the mattress to *breath* better. And with the thin cover you’ll notice a difference. This is especially valuable for those who live in hot climates, or if you naturally sweat a lot at night.

If you’re anything like me, you absolutely hate to wake up in the night drenched in sweat on a summer night. I can handle the cold well – just add a blanket – but escaping from heat at night is a different story. The Purple mattress is a good solution for that.

Another great thing is that the top layer allows for a good bounce. And I won’t have to tell what that means for certain night-time activities…

What I like about the Tuft & Needle mattress: premium quality for an affordable price

The first thing that draws attention is its affordability. Compared to all the other highly-reviewed mattresses it’s a price class lower.

Now, you might think that the creators must’ve skipped on something. Or that the more expensive mattresses are fundamentally better. But that’s the thing: The Tuft & Needle mattress was built from a minimalistic point.

So the company basically ONLY focused on the fundamentals. So while with some other mattresses you might find 7+ specialized layers, the Tuft & Needle mattress only has 2 multifunctional. And this is reflected in its price tag.

To keep this article up with the current prices – you can check the up-to-date price of the Tuft & Needle mattress here.

So in its essence what you’ll get with the Tuft & needle mattress is a high-quality mattress that offers a great sleep quality for a better price. Now, the drawback is of course that some things had to be compromised. For instance, one often heard complaint about the mattress is that its support on the edges is bad.

Now, if edge support is something that you need to easily get up – I recommend you skip the mattress. But for others, who wouldn’t even notice extra support on the edges – it makes perfect sense to choose the Tuft & Needle mattress. After all, you’re not paying for extra’s that you wouldn’t be using anyway!

Here’s what to base your decision on

In order to make the final decision (Purple mattress vs Tuft and Needle) easier for you, I’ve compiled a list of questions to help you make the right decision. Go ahead and see which mattress suits your needs better:

  • Do you have a tight budget – but want a mattress with a premium feel? Tuft & Needle is the choice for you
  • Do you live in a hot climate or experience heavy sweating at night? The Purple mattress will be better
  • Do you want the best option in terms of overall comfort and support? Then choose the Purple mattress
  • Do you want a minimalistic mattress without any unnecessary extra’s (edge support of extra layers)? Tuft & Needle

Final verdict Purple mattress vs Tuft and Needle

In terms of overall sleep quality and support, Purple wins. However, not by a very large margin. So if you’re on a tight budget – or you want to keep things simple – the Tuft & Needle mattress would be a very good variant for you.

I hope this Purple mattress vs Tuft and Needle comparison has helped you become more clear about what the right mattress is for your situation. If you have any specific questions, feel free to leave them in the comments.

Casper Mattress vs Tuft and Needle: Which Lets You Sleep the Best?

casper mattress vs tuft and needle mattressAnother frequent question I get from readers from the blog is the following: “I’ve read some good reviews about the Casper mattress and the Tuft & Needle mattress. But I’m unsure which one is best for me. Could you do an overview of which mattress is better for which type of persons?” So that’s exactly what you’ll find on this page. So if you too are struggling to make a decision between these two mattresses – then this Casper mattress vs Tuft and Needle comparison can help you out!

Note: every person is different and so every person requires a different type of mattress. Now, both mattresses discussed in this article are high quality mattresses. So it will be the minor differences between them that will make a difference which is better for you. As always, ask yourself what you find the most important for your sleep to get a clearer image which mattress will suit you best.

Casper mattress vs Tuft and Needle: which is better?

Before we dive into what makes each mattress different, I think it’s a perfect idea to first put together a list of all the things that the mattresses have in common. This will make it easier for you to focus on the differences – that will influence the decision the most.

Both mattresses (for the queen model):

  • Are memory foam
  • Can be bought online
  • Are 10 inches high and weigh just above 70 pounds
  • Offer a 100-night sleeping trial in which you can test the mattress
  • Are covered with a 10-year warranty

What I like about the Casper mattress: customer service

The Casper mattress is made from premium latex foam and is therefore a very comfortable mattress. One of the things that will surprise you how well the mattress seems to hit that sweet spot of not too soft, but also not too firm.

So if you experience problems with other mattresses who either seem too soft for you – or too firm. Then the Casper mattress will probably pleasantly surprise you.

One of the main things that I like about Casper is their customer services. I’ve heard from many others that it’s above average. Luckily, I haven’t had to deal with it, so I can’t say from first hand experience. What I can say however is that Casper offers some customers to take away their old mattress. This can be a life-saver if you don’t want it anymore.

It’s a small thing but it goes to show how Casper takes care of its customers.

The mattress itself is available in virtually every size, so you won’t have to fret about that. And the only persons I wouldn’t recommend Casper to is if you either sleep really hot (then you need another mattress that specifically focuses on increasing airflow and decreasing temperature). Or if you want something else than medium-firm.

What I like about the Tuft & Needle mattress: affordability without compromising essential mattress requirements

Tuft & Needle is a great mattress for those who are looking for a mattress that has all the characteristics of a premium mattress – but for an affordable price. I checked up on the company behind the mattress and they really have a very ‘minimalistic’ way of designing.

For instance, they decided to build up their mattress from choosing what the essential elements are for good sleep. So basically what a good mattress should do is it should be comfortable. And it should also offer ample support for your body.

One of the best ways to combine this is by using premium quality memory foam. And to keep things simple there are only 2 layers in the mattress. The only disadvantage of this minimalistic style is that the mattress has pretty poor edge support.

This is a refreshing new perspective in an age where some mattresses come up with 7+ layers with each having its own special function. It also makes deciding which mattress to pick a lot easier.

Instead of listing the price here, you can check the current price on Amazon. That way you won’t be getting outdated information.

Here’s what to base your decision on

Good, to make things easier for this Casper mattress vs Tuft and Needle comparison, here’s a list with a couple of essential questions that you can ask yourself to see which mattress is more suited for you:

  • Do you prefer top-notch customer service? Casper is your preferred choice
  • Do you want a premium mattress for an affordable price? Tuft and Needle is for you
  • Do you prefer to keep things simple? Tuft and Needle only has 2 multifunctional layers instead of 5+ specialized layers that some other mattresses have nowadays. And this is reflected in the price.
  • Do you want good support on the edges of the mattress? The Casper mattress is the clear winner for this.

Final verdict Casper mattress vs Tuft and Needle

So, there you have it. A full comparison between the Casper and the Tuft & Needle mattress. In general, I’d say most people would sleep better on the Casper mattress. Plus the customer support they offer is something that will always come in handy when you need it. However, this comes at a price, and if you’re looking for a good, simple mattress that’s in a more affordable price class, then I’d recommend Tuft & Needle.

I hope this information made it clear to you which mattress is the better choice for your situation. If you have any other questions (about either mattress, or about the comparison), please let me know in the comments.

Also, if you’re interested, you can find out more information about each specific mattress on the product pages on Amazon. On top of all the features and specifications, you’ll also find a ton of useful customer reviews there. So you can also use those to base your final decision on.

Novaform vs Tuft and Needle Mattress: 4 Questions to Help You Decide

novaform vs tuft and needle mattressWith so many different mattresses out there, it’s a wonder we can actually find one that is good enough for our needs. Comparing and picking the best one is often a long process and you don’t want to rush the decision. After all, you’re going to be sleeping on the mattress for the next coming 10 years, and you don’t want to spend those nights in agony. One of the mattress comparison questions I get often is the following “Which mattress should I pick: Novaform vs Tuft and Needle mattress?” So to answer your questions in one time, here is the full article on the Novaform mattress against the Tuft and Needle mattress.

Note: most of the time there is one definite winner when comparing mattresses. However, every person is different and it might be that my conclusion is different from yours. So I recommend you take a good look at all the information I’ve presented here and draw your own conclusion.

For me it is important that a mattress is mainly comfortable, but for you it might be more important that it gives enough support and stability for your back or spine. So first think for yourself what the single one thing is that you want the mattress to have. Is it comfort? Or is it support for a bad back? Or maybe you live in a hot climate – and you want a mattress that ‘channels’ away the cold.

Novaform vs Tuft and Needle mattress: which should you choose

Before we start comparing, let’s quickly discuss the similarities of the mattresses. After all, since they have some overlap – you won’t need to take these things into account when making a decision. First, both mattresses are made from memory foam. That means that they both absorb the pressure the pressure of your body (and each specific body part) and offer the right counter pressure.

You can read more about memory foam mattresses on this page.

tuft and needle layers
Above you see the Tuft & Needle mattress. It’s simple and elegant with its 2 layers.

novaform layers
And here above you see how the Novaform mattress is built.

The next thing that both mattresses are good at it, is that they are both ‘cool’ sleepers. What that means is that the heat your body produces isn’t going to get trapped underneath your body in the mattress. If you’ve ever lied awake the whole night on a hot summer night, then you know exactly what agony this is. The Novaform mattress accomplishes this through a 3-inch middle layer (3 layers in total), that is responsible for letting air flow through the mattress and taking away heat/. The Tuft & Needle mattress has a top gel foam layer that doesn’t absorb heat as well as traditional memory foam mattresses. So you’ll also experience cool nights on it.

What I like about the Novaform mattress: good for back/spine posture

Novaform Comfort Grande Queen Memory Foam
The Novaform mattress is a stylish and comfortable mattress.

The first thing you’ll notice about the Novaform mattress is its thickness. It’s a beast with its 14 inches and the reason for that is that it consists of 3 layers. The top 3-inch gel memory foam layer is responsible for the custom support for your body. The middle layer (as we spoke before) is responsible for the airflow and temperature regulation. While the lower 8-inch foundation offers the long-lasting stability and support that your body needs while sleeping.

So with this composition it won’t surprise you that the mattress really offers a good deal of support. I don’t personally suffer from back problems – but from reading what countless others have said, the mattress does a phenomenal job for those suffering from neck or back pain. So if you’re experiencing those problems, the Novaform mattress is the way to go.

What I like about the Tuft and Needle mattress: localized ‘bounce’ so you don’t disturb your partner

tuft and needle v novaform
Tuft & Needle is known for their affordable – but oh so comfortable – mattresses.

The Tuft and Needle mattress is a different beast. First thing you’ll notice is that it’s a regular sized mattress (10 inches thick), that looks innovative. The mattresses only have been brought to the market in the last couple of years – the company is very young too – so they have taken it upon them to ‘revolutionize’ the way mattresses are made.

Now, I’m usually not that impressed by companies trying to innovate just for the sake of looking innovative, but I think they’ve actually achieved a good job with their mattress.

Just from looking at the box you’ll see that they have a couple of certifications. You might know the Certi-PUR certificate? It means that the mattress was produced without any harmful components. So you’ll be able to sleep without any worries about that.

Now, virtually every mattress these days is of course safe to sleep on – but getting a Certi-PUR certificate does take a lot of effort from the makers. So it means their mattresses are top-grade.

tuft and needle complaints
Unboxing the Tuft & Needle mattress is fun with the whole family.

But onto the sleeping part. One of the best things the mattresses doe is offer a good balance between soft and firm. Instead of going too much one way, it hits that sweet spot in between. Also, there’s good news for couples – the mattress has a nice bounce to it that is localized. So if you’re jumping on the bed while your partner is asleep, they won’t notice a thing.

So in my opinion the Tuft & Needle is a good mattress for couples somewhere between 25 and 45 (assuming you don’t have debilitating back problems).

tuft and needle best mattress for back pain
Here you can see exactly how the Tuft & Needle mattress has been built.

Oh, I almost forgot to mention: Tuft and Needle also gives out a 100-night sleeping trial. So if you are the type of person that hesitates a bit before buying a mattress (after all it’s a significant purchase), then you can safely try out the mattress in the comfort of your own home. Sleep on it a couple of nights (recommend at least 2-3 weeks before you can make a good decision), and then decide if the mattress is right for you or not.

Here’s what to base your decision on

I already gave some hints and tips throughout the article on whether to pick the Novaform vs Tuft and Needle mattress. However, to give you a good overview, I’ve made a little checklist here.

  • Do you experience back or neck problems on a regular basis? Choose Novaform
  • Do you like thicker mattresses with more support? Novaform is for you with its 14 inches thickness
  • Do you wake up in the middle of the night because your partner is moving? Pick Tuft & Needle
  • Do you want to have a sleeping trial to *test-sleep* the mattress? Tuft & Needle offers a 100-night sleeping trial

Final verdict Novaform vs Tuft and Needle mattress

So the Novaform vs Tuft and Needle mattress comparison isn’t as black and white as you may see. Different people have different needs and your perfect mattress will be different from mine.

However, you can use the questions in the above paragraph to find out which one will suit you better. After you’ve answered the questions, I recommend you check out the 2 product pages on Amazon. Best Rated Mattresses: These Mattresses All Have 4 Qualities in Common

best rated mattressesIf you’re looking for best rated mattresses there are several things that you need to keep in mind. Of course the quality of the mattress is very important. Just as the support that the mattress gives you. especially if you suffer from back problems or other aches in your body. So consider this a condensed mattress buying guide for finding the best rated mattresses.

Note: I will first go over a couple of criteria that you need to look for when finding a good mattress. After that I will give you some recommendations of mattresses that have passed the test of time. These mattresses fulfill each of the 4 criteria that a good mattress should have and you can read the full review of these mattresses on this site.

Best rated mattresses

A good mattress is one that is both great in comfort and support. Now another main thing is that the mattress should have good reviews. For this you can go to most online retailer sites. As they often have a review function for each of their products.

What to look for in best rated mattresses

#1 Comfort

The first thing that a good mattress should be is comfortable. If you don’t enjoy sleeping on it, then it doesn’t matter how great it is for your back – you’re not going to wake up feeling refreshed.

That’s why the first main quality any best rated mattress should have is comfortability. Of course the main way to find out if a mattress is comfortable enough for you is to test it out! You could try out lying on the mattress for a couple of minutes in a mattress store. But if you’re ordering online, it’s better to look for a mattress with an X-nights risk-free sleeping trial. (more on that later)

#2 Support

The second valuable characteristic for best rated mattresses is that they should offer ample support for your back and spine. The reason for this is that you sleep for about one-third of your life. So if your mattress is not giving your back the support that it needs – it can lead to all kinds of back problems.

Now, for the majority of people it’s really easy to find a mattress that offers ample back support. I recommend you pick a medium to firm mattress. Only if you’re severely overweight you might do better with a firm mattress.

#3 Warranty duration

The next influential factor is how long the warranty is that you’ll get when buying the mattress. Now, if the warranty is less than 10 years, you’d be better of skipping the mattress. Why?

Because ten years is really the minimum. If a company offers you only 1 or 5 years warranty, it always seems to me that they don’t really believe in the quality of their product.

Buying a mattress is a long-term investment and the warranty you get on the mattress should reflect that.

#4 Sleeping trial

The final thing to look for in a mattress is the sleeping trial. I have seen all range from around 30-120 days. What it basically means is that you can try out the mattress in the comfort of your own home for a specific period of time without any risk whatsoever.

This is of course the best way to find out if you like a mattress or not. It’s really simple:

If you like sleeping on the mattress – great! You now have a good mattress that is comfortable and fits your body.

And if you don’t – no problem. You can simply return the mattress, get your money back and continue your search for the perfect mattress!

That is why I recommend that you buy a mattress it includes a sleeping trial. Especially when you’re buying it on the internet!

Recommended best rated mattresses
